Today marks a significant day in our journey as a business. We are so proud to be able to offer you the chance to join us as co-owners in Bridge Road Brewers. 

A humble beginning / 17 years and counting

By now most of you know our founding story - fresh faced 25 year old Ben + Maria return from a European adventure that sparked a passion for craft beer, and built a little brewery in Ben's parents’ garage. 

We quickly outgrew the garage we started in and moved into the premises we’re still in today - a 340 seat taproom, pizzeria and 25HL brewhouse. We've built a reputation for quality beer - you'll find Bridge Road beer gracing taps, fridges and eskies from Bermagui to Bangkok!

Our business has been built on a real passion for craft beer and hospitality, with an organic growth strategy that has seen us grow at a stable and steady rate for the past 17 years. 

As pioneering craft brewers in Australia, we have navigated through a multitude of challenges, seen competition come and go, and have built a creative and resilient business and culture as a result. We are proud that our business is seen as an industry leader in a fast paced and ever-changing craft beer landscape, all the while remaining independent (whilst many of our peers have been acquired by foreign owned multinationals).  

Our growth has seen a team of two with enough revenue to keep the lights on in 2005 grow to a team of 35 FTEs with an annual turnover of >$11,000,000 (FY 20/21). This success has been a collective effort – our staff, our suppliers, our customers and our community have contributed every step of the way. We didn’t get here on our own, and we know we’re nothing without you.

So now we want to extend the invitation for you to join us as owners of this incredible company. We have big plans for the business. These include increasing our production capacity to keep up with growing demand, opening a new Taphouse in Melbourne to bring great beer to more people, and reducing our environmental footprint so that everyone can feel even better when sipping on one of our brews.

Our growth strategy will be key to our long-term success and relevance in the craft beer landscape. We need to raise a significant amount of capital to make all of this possible. When we thought about how we’d do this, we knew that we wanted the process to exemplify our values. We wanted the brand to remain proudly independent from the big corporates. We wanted the ownership to reflect the diversity of our loyal fans and supporters. We wanted our co-owners to be as passionate about the beer we make, AND the way we make it, as us. We are offering you the opportunity to experience the pride of ownership in all that we do and create at Bridge Road Brewers.
