Although native to Australia and considered a quintessential Australian scent, many of the eucalyptus essential oils available for sale here were produced in China.

In fact, of the 7,000 tonnes of eucalyptus oil produced globally each year, China produces around 75% while Australia produces just 5%.

We have, however, found some wonderful Australian grown and distilled eucalyptus oils from Essentially Australia, which we know you will love.

We love placing a few drops of our favourite Essentially Australia essential oils into the hole at the top of a Banksia Aroma Pod. The porous seed pod soaks it up and slowly releases the aroma through its pores. No flames or electricity needed!

About the maker: Biome has offered these delightful banksia pods since we discovered them at Noosa some 10 years ago.  Craftsman, Tony Hansen and his family have a special license to gather the native Banskia Grandis once the seeds have been released.   

All pods are hand turned, chiseled, sanded, and then polished with Australian canola oil to enhance their natural colour.  We adore the textures of the red velvety fur, and holes where the seeds once were.
