• Greens for less than Coles?

Less plastic, less emissions, less chemicals and less $$

We know the Biome community is all over saving single use plastic waste with their KeepCups and other reusables, so we're focussing on saving plastic from our food supply.

This week we have the innovative NZ-brand Micropod, with a 10% off launch special, plus 10% off Bee One Third locally grown honey in glass jars and the Mount Zero biodynamic range.

Grow your own greens in two weeks
for less than they cost in the grocery store!

As food prices rise and inflation stretches our wallets, getting our fill of nutritious, quality produce is getting harder.

With Micropod, you can grow gorgeous greens right in your kitchen—a cheaper, healthier and more sustainable alternative to commercially farmed produce.

The unit price for a crop of these microgreens is only $2.30 per seed mat (see below why that's less than Coles).

Not to mention, growing produce at home reduces carbon emissions, plastic packaging waste, and pesticide use.

Simply choose your Micropod growing kit size, the type of microgreens you would like to grow, and add water.  Direct sunlight not required. Super Simple!

    What are microgreens?

Microgreens are the seedlings of leafy greens, vegetables and herbs and can have up to 40 times more nutrients than their mature counterparts.

Full Micropod range is available right now in our stores also.

To receive 10% off in store, simply mention this offer before 20 July.

    Seedmats

    How do they work?

Choose from three sizes that have everything you need to get growing!

Mini Starter kit: The smallest size fits one seedmat, and comes with two.

Starter kit: The perfect addition to your kitchen windowsill, this singular grow tray fits two mats, and arrives with six seedmats ready to go.

Continuous Grow kit: Allows you to have a continuous supply of super fresh greens by staggering the start of the four seedmats spaces. Includes six seedmats.

Going forward, choose from a wide variety of seedmats with mixed or single greens such as rocket, mizuna, kale, chia, broccoli and pak choy.

Feta and Beetroot Pizza with Rocket Microgreens

    Ingredients

    Directions

    • Heat oven to 230°C.  Wrap beetroots individually in recycled aluminium foil and roast for 40 minutes, or until fork tender. Cool, peel, and slice into rounds.
    • Flour and stretch dough to desired size. Brush with olive oil.
    • Lay beet slices evenly over dough. Top with crumbled feta, salt, and pepper.
    • Bake 15 to 20 minutes, or until crust is browned. Transfer to a cutting board.
    • Top with microgreens, remaining oil, and a drizzle of Honey-Balsamic Reduction (to make reduction: cook vinegar and honey in a small pan over medium heat, watching carefully, until liquid reduces by half. Let cool to room temperature.)

Micropod 12 Seedmats - Wellness Blend

    A Micropod Crop Costs Less

Once you purchase a long lasting Micropod kit, all you need is to replenish your supply of seed mats.

Micropod’s seedmats are packed full of natural nutrients to make indoor growing easy - no synthetics and all vegan.

Each seedmat contains some 440 individual seeds, optimally spaced to provide airflow during germination.  They are made in Australia and NZ from paper pulp and coconut fibres.  Once used, just place in your garden to compost.

And, just to show that at $2.30 each the seedmats are cheaper than supermarket microgreens (plus there's no plastic tub waste), here's a snapshot of what Coles is advertising!
