If You Care's household products are produced with a view to reducing the amount of waste ending up in landfill.

Created in 1990, If You Care started with unbleached coffee filters, a first at the time. Parchment Baking Paper and Baking Cups soon followed, both unbleached as well.

In 2004, the very first Aluminium Foil made from 100% recycled aluminium was launched. This product featured 95% energy savings compared to conventional aluminium foil. 

Other ideas followed, such as If You Care’s 100% carbon neutral Firelighters, made from FSC certified wood and vegetable oil, Sandwich and Snack bags from unbleached greaseproof paper, sponge cloths from plant cellulose, and Fair Trade Rubber Gloves.

Firelighters make your job a little easier, but many firelighters do so at a cost to our planet and people.

Most firelighters are made using the fossil fuels kerosene, paraffin or paraffin wax, which carry a huge CO2 cost and contribute to global warming.

Some firelighters such as hexamine firelighters also give off emissions that have a detrimental effect on human health.

Vegetable oils are a solution to avoid the need for fossil fuels or other toxic substances, but they generally contain palm oil so are not an eco-friendly solution either! 

If You Care Firelighters are made from FSC wood and non-GMO palm oil-free vegetable oil.

• Slice to maximise flat surfaces to lie flat against the pan.
• Toss in olive oil and salt & pepper.
• Lay on baking paper. Like all roasted veggies, don't overload the pan.
• Turn half way through.
• Roast for about 25 - 35 minutes until deeply golden.

Add your flavour sensation like:

Mexican - toss with cumin and chilli, top with toasted pepitas, garnish with coriander and lime zest.

Italian - golden crust of Parmesan cheese, topped with fresh parsley, lemon zest and red pepper flakes.
