• How B Corps Stand Out by Standing Up for Change

By working with others committed to better business, B Corps find value in collaboration and show strength through action.
In a crowded marketplace where companies are adjusting to answer consumers’ increasing calls for positive change, Certified B Corporations are among the businesses that stand out for their verified impact and pursuit of doing business better. The B Corp symbol is more than a label or destination: It’s a blueprint, a learning community, a laboratory, a path toward a more regenerative and inclusive economy.

Together with other impact organizations — like those highlighted in this week’s featured articles — B Corps are recognizing the critical role of business in ensuring quality jobs, supporting stronger communities, and creating a regenerative relationship with our planet. By working with others committed to better business, B Corps find value in collaboration and show strength through action.

    In community,

    Driving Climate Action Through Certification

Several certification organizations have emerged to help companies and consumers identify the real-deal practices and products that can mitigate climate change and even have a positive effect on the environment. Leaders of 1% for the Planet, B Lab U.S. & Canada, and Climate Neutral recently discussed certification and climate action — and how their groups help businesses collaborate and innovate together to protect the future of the Earth. (And be sure to check this list of Earth-friendly offerings from 1% for the Planet B Corps.)

An Urgent Call to the Biden-Harris Administration for an Inclusive Economy

B Lab, the U.S. Impact Investing Alliance, and a coalition of impact-oriented organizations are calling on the Biden-Harris administration to advance stakeholder capitalism through inclusive policies that will reshape and rebuild the economy. The proposed reforms to capital markets and increased community investing would help the U.S. address three crises: the COVID-19 economic fallout, a widening racial wealth gap, and climate change.

B Lab and other partners are excited to present Shift 2021, a virtual event April 14-16 featuring impact leaders and action-oriented workshops. This new collaborative event will feature more than 75 impact leaders — including several from B Lab and B Corps — sharing engaging content in 36 live sessions, plus networking opportunities with over 1,000 event attendees. A $20 Prophecy for the Good of People and Planet — Plus Profit

Triple-P (people, planet, and profit) movements such as B Corp and 1% for the Planet aren’t simply window dressing for Hemmings House, a film production company. They provide a blueprint for building a successful purposeful business, says founder Greg Hemmings, as well as connection to a community of other businesses doing great by nature of their generosity.
