'An outstanding piece of equipment!'

'After purchasing one of these for myself I purchased another for my daughter. They are the best all round wet weather gear I have encountered. They are robust and completely waterproof while being big enough to cover you and your pack. I have used one already as a tarp and ground sheet and it has held up well. The only down side is they are heavy, but the durability and versatility of the poncho more than makes up for this.' (Todd.S)

Flared pants are not just a wild fashion statement! Like most things military, these have a practical purpose, primarily survival. If a sailor is unfortunate enough to fall overboard, the pants are easier to remove in the water over the top of footwear. Sailors are also trained after removing them to tie the legs in knots to fill them with air while awaiting rescue. A great side-effect for more loosely run crews in the old days is they are much easier to roll up!
