• Keep pets away from fireworks: This may seem obvious, but it’s a good rule for pets an kids. 
• Provide a safe space: Keep your pet in their bed or crate. Covering the crate and closing drapes can block flashing lights and muffle sounds. Keeping pets indoors will ensure they don’t run away.
• Give your pet toys: A favorite toy can help distract pets. A toy that combines treats can really hold their attention.
• Play calming music: As it does for us, soothing music or white noise can help pets relax.
• Stay with your pet: Playing and petting is a great way to calm pets, while others may prefer to curl up until the noise stops.
• Talk to your veterinarian: If your pet is sensitive to loud noise, talk to your vet before the 4th of July to see what they would recommend.
