    Trilobe Reimagines Mechanical Timekeeping
    Founded in 2013 and launched in 2018, Trilobe is a relatively young brand from France with a relatively young founder and CEO, Gautier Massonneau. Trilobe takes modern, deconstructive architecture for inspiration, the qualities of which can be felt throughout the brand. But Trilobe also adheres to tradition in its formal case shapes, colorways, and its adherence to the highest Swiss watchmaking standards.
     
     

     
    The Nuit Fantastique gives us time in an entirely unique manner. The hours, minutes, and seconds are expressed on geared time-telling rings which each rotate counterclockwise and are always read at the top of each ring. The hours are indicated at the outer edge of the dial, where the trefoil shape points to the time. One can simply glance at this ring to get an immediate general reading of the time. Minutes are displayed via a ring which is displayed in the smaller aperture near 11 o'clock, with seconds turning on a yet smaller, fully exposed ring at 8 o'clock. Despite the novelty of this eccentric configuration, time telling is entirely intuitive.
     
     
     

    With the Folle Journee, France's Trilobe has taken their eccentrically configured dial to new heights, literally and figuratively. By elevating the eccentric rings from the hours at the outer edge, minutes on the next level, and the seconds higher yet. The domed sapphire crystal reaches a full 10.2mm above the main plate for a striking view of the time and exposed mechanical components.

    The Folle Journee offers an entirely new take on mechanical timekeeping. This is a watch that will turn heads - it sure turned ours - without breaking with the traditional forms that constitute a dress watch. The navy blue colorway is handsome and classic, especially on the matching blue alligator strap. Surrounded by the warm hues of polished titanium, this unique blue pops just enough, while remaining understated and sophisticated.
