    Hi xqbly

    Introducing our Net Zero

    carbon roadmap

We've recently published our roadmap to make Birmingham Airport a Net Zero carbon airport by 2033. This ambition was first announced in 2019, then COVID happened, and we are recommitting to this goal setting out a step-by-step plan to get there by 2033.

Already, in the past decade, we have reduced BHX’s greenhouse emissions by 33% through the use of solar, electric vehicle transition and energy-efficiency measures.

Now we are aiming for our airport operation to be zero carbon in 11 years’ time. Not making a net contribution to global greenhouse emissions. And we aim to do that by implementing low-carbon operations and minimal use of carbon offsets.
