Did you know that natural nesting sites such as holes in trees and gaps in run-down buildings are in decline due to our human-need to keep things tidy? This means many birds are struggling to find appropriate nesting sites to lay their eggs, but we can help.

By providing a nest box in your garden you're not only helping one of our precious garden bird species thrive, you also get to experience the beauty of nature and new life. Not only will our bird friends be thankful, but our own mental wellbeing can also improve with knowing that we are doing our best to help nature survive for generations to come.

This month we want to give 20,000 birds a home in time for breeding season, but we can't do it alone. By purchasing a nest box you will be giving our garden birds a safe, secure and sustainable home to lay their eggs and raise their young for years to come and helping us to house 10,000 couples this February!

National Trust Sparrow Terrace

Sparrows were once one of our most common birds, but in recent years they have declined drastically. This is partly due to a lack of natural nesting sites for them to breed.

This nest box is perfect for our sparrows who like to nest in colonies. The terrace has three chambers for three nesting pairs to raise their young and help combat species decline!

This box is perfect for our smaller friends like robins and wrens who often nest in crevices and small spaces.

Robins prefer to nest low to the ground so hiding this nest box in hedge banks or confined spaces would be ideal!

Wrens prefer higher ground, but they also love to be sheltered in nooks and crannies. Find a tight and concealed space to situate the box for your little lodgers this Spring.
