RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch is back, and we need you more than ever.

In the last 50 years, we have lost over 38 million birds in the UK, a staggering number made evident from the survey results of previous year’s RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch. Monitoring the birds we see and feeding this back to conservation charities such as the RSPB, is vital in ensuring that we fully understand the current situation of our bird populations, enabling us to take action.

If you haven’t taken part before, join us, or if you have taken part in previous years, keep up the great work! Let’s all join in the annual count to better understand the threat our wildlife are facing, and make strides to help protect the future of our beloved birds.

What if I don't have a garden, how can I help?

You don’t need a garden to take part! Visit a local park and count the birds you see, or if you’re in an urban area with no garden, purchase a window feeder and let them come to you.

However you take part, you’ll be helping to protect thousands of species – that’s amazing!
