    20+ Healthy Workout Snacks

    As much as we wish diet alone or exercise alone was the key to unlocking our healthiest life, it's just not true. We need them BOTH and we need them consistently. I've heard it ALL from personal trainers, doctors and nutritionists, and can vouch for this myself. 
    • It's 80% nutrition. 20% fitness. 
    • You can't outrun a bad diet. 
    • Food is fuel.
    I've compiled my favorite snack recipes that are great for working out. They have a mixture of plant-based protein, complex carbs, healthy fats and hydration to enhance your workout and support your recovery.

    Happy National Park Week!

    U.S. National Parks hold a special place in my heart. I've taken my kids to 23 National Parks, and I've run through most of them. Trail running is my favorite workout and being in nature makes me a happier human. Since it's National Park Week, I want to motivate you to work out AND explore a national park.  

    Check out Vacation Races, the host of 18+ National Park races and global destinations for 2022. I did their Everglades Half Marathon in 2018 (proof above!). 

    If I don't commit to an endurance event and put it on my calendar, I struggle to work out. I've used the Grand Canyon R3, Croom 100K and the Everglades Half Marathon to motivate me to workout. When you're training for something pretty epic, it's easier to put in the weekly mileage. Try it!
