    Hi, ,

I’ve realized over the last few months that as I go longer and longer with no period, something else is missing: my period headache.

My entire life, 2 days before my period, I get a screaming headache. Typical over-the-counter pain relievers don’t touch it. It's awful, and generally means I am in pain and less effective that entire day.

But the good news is that as hormones decline, the things that come with them, like hormonal headaches, also decline! This means those debilitating hormone-induced headaches are on their way out, and I could not be more thrilled!

And guess what? Aside from the obvious thing of not having your period anymore, there are other things that get better as you age. You’re not getting your period anymore, so no more PMS! You can have sex without contraceptives or worry about getting pregnant, and if you have uterine fibroids, they may even shrink!

But menopause is also a great time to take stock of your life, refocus on what YOU want, bond with other women in a similar phase of their life, take risks, and learn new things. It’s a chance to get back to the YOU you want to be.

Now that those pesky headaches are gone, I can’t wait to see what other positive changes menopause brings!
