• Rotation Schema 🌪️

The Rotating Play Schema (rotation) involves spinning, twisting, rolling or turning.

    What is the Rotation Schema?

Play schemas are natural, uncontrollable, and totally necessary urges that ALL children have at some point or another.
The Rotating Play Schema (rotation) involves spinning, twisting, rolling or turning. A child exploring this schema may show an interest in wheels, watching the washing machine spin around, repetitively spinning themselves or items round and round, or enjoy running in circles.

You can support this schema by providing objects with wheels and that can spin, playing ring-a-rosey, riding a bike in circles or using screwdrivers.

If you need a reminder of ‘What are Play Schemas and why do they matter?’ then head to our BLOG on the Growing Kind website.
