| NEWS | GoFundMe curates help in the wake of Buffalo mass shooting | | The crowdfunding website GoFundMe has released a list of verified campaigns where people can donate money to help victims of the mass shooting that took place in Buffalo, New York, over the weekend. | | | On Saturday, May 14, a white gunman arrived at a Tops Friendly Markets supermarket in a mostly Black neighborhood and began shooting. Thirteen people were shot. Ten died. Authorities are investigating the shooting as a hate crime. | | | Within hours of the shooting, ordinary people began mobilizing to help the shooting victims and their families, and many have launched campaigns on GoFundMe. | | | The crowdfunding platform says proceeds of the verified campaigns will go to the individuals and families affected.
