Podcasts are easy to consume, and just as easy to create. Once you’ve found a niche, chosen a name, and subscribed to a hosting service, you’re about halfway there! All that’s left is to create the podcasts, and these tools are a definite must-have to get you started on the right track.

Remember: the better the audio quality, the more professional your podcast sounds.

    1. An external microphone

USB microphones like the Creative Live! Mic M3 offer a full, comprehensive package; from high-resolution, studio-quality recording, to handy accessories like a detachable magnetic pop filter and a sturdy adjustable table stand. This easy to use, plug-and-play mic also features dual sound pickup patterns (cardioid and omni-directional) so you can use the same mic for single-person and group podcasts.

    2. A pair of headphones

Whether it’s to monitor sound as it’s recorded, or for editing your audio clips post-production, a good pair of headphones like the Creative Aurvana Trio LS will reproduce the recorded sound with minimal distortions and deliver clean, pristine audio to your ears. These headphones are built with Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) technology, which drastically reduce distortion that commonly exist in traditional drivers, and also feature noise-isolating ear tips that form an optimal seal to block out unwanted environmental noises.

    3. A full HD webcam

If you’re creating video podcasts, you’ll need a high-definition webcam for sharp and crisp imagery. The Creative Live! Cam Sync 1080p V2 is an easy plug-and-play solution, delivering full HD videos at 1080p / 30 FPS rate, and offering 77° field of view for a balanced frame. This tripod-mountable webcam also features 360° horizontal rotation and 30° vertical tilt, so you can capture the best angles.

    4. For extra oomph: A USB DAC Amp

For more advanced users, a USB DAC is very useful and gives you more control over your sound in real-time so you can produce a great podcast. Get full access to Sound Blaster technologies like CrystalVoice for noise control, echo cancellation, and voice morph options on the Sound Blaster X4 via the desktop Creative App. With multiple connectivity options, it supports a variety of equipment configurations for your convenience and added ease of use.
