    Protect Your Device and Rights
    Happy Tuesday.

Today I wanted to take some time to discuss something we feel is a very important topic with your mobile device and that is the Right to Repair.

You may have heard this term floating around the internet or even a quick piece on your local nightly news but what is it exactly?

The Right to Repair is your right as the owner of a device to fix problems with your device yourself or to have a third-party repair shop fix the problem with your device.

You see, once you've paid for the device the manufacturer should not dictate to you how you can use it. This means you should be able to open it up and see how it's put together, upgrade it, or hack it if you choose.

It is becoming more and more common for manufacturers to make proprietary screws to limit access to your device, to limit the number of parts available to replace, to limit the amount of repair information available. All of this, in turn, creates a monopoly on repairs.

I great example of this would be Air Pods. The batteries are very difficult, if not impossible to change on Air Pods so what happens when the batteries don't hold as good of a charge anymore? Would it not make sense to have information available on how to properly change the batteries? Why is the expectation from the manufacturer that you would shell out another few hundred dollars to buy a new pair?

Isn't it all frustrating? We sure think so. We believe that you should get the most out of your device for as long as you can that is why our products are made to help prolong the life of your device.

So what can you do? Let your voice be heard, there are a number of states that are introducing bills that have the potential to become laws that will make the Right to Repair an actual legal standard so keep an eye out for these measures in your local goings-on.

In the meantime, you can control how you protect your phone so you don't need to pay for a costly repair, or worst, completely replace your device and that is through using our cases, covers, and screen protectors.
