A different kind of intelligent design

Two things likely became clear from browsing our shelves of amber jars and bottles during your recent visit. One, we leave no detail unconsidered. And two, we do so with a touch of eccentricity. So it has been since 1987, when the first Aesop formulations were conceived in the storeroom of a Melbourne hair salon.

The research and development process has long since moved to our own purpose-built in-house lab—a rarity in the skin care world. There, we practice the mantra gleaned from these early experiments: that good design improves our lives.
